Native Range: Asia
The shredded umbrella plant, part of the aster flowering-plant family, is native to edges of forests in Asia and eastern Europe. Shredded umbrella plants are grown for their unique segmented foliage: The leaves unfurl like an umbrella, hence the name. In the summer, they flower on stems that grow above the foliage, but the flowers are quite small and do not stand out like other asters.
