Illicium floridanum f. album

Native Range: North America

“White Florida” anise is also known as “stinkbush” due to the scent of its flowers – described as “fish-like.” The leaves, when crushed, smell sweeter and like anise, hence its other name. It is native to the Gulf Coast of the United States. Its white flowers are striking and star shaped, with thin petals, that develop into a star-shaped fruit.
